TASHA MRZLJAK presents ANARKOARTLAB
with DJ Douglazz | BOOK LAUNCH Automedia New York City 2026

Artist, author, and art historian TASHA MRZLJAK presents ANARKOARTLAB, published in collaboration with ADRIANS BLACK at Autonomedia New York City 2026.
An evening exploring art as a force for social change and the energy of the New York art scene, featuring conversations, video clips, sound by DJ DOUGLAZZ.

How does art become a political and social practice? INSEL lesen international explores this question and brings a piece of New York City—fresh off the press—to Berlin.

The book explores the history and practices of AnarkoArtLab, founded in 2007 at The Living Theatre in New York’s East Village. Bringing together performance, collective creation and mutual aid, the book examines art as a form of political and social praxis through post-anarchist, decolonial, feminist and intersectional perspectives. Combining images, interviews, poems, manifestos and critical texts, it operates less as a conventional monograph than as an archive in motion.

For the evening on November 19, the author will speak briefly about the book, the collective and the process behind the publication, show a selection of films and/or photographs from AnarkoArtLab while introducing the work.
